Sekiro: Unlock All Abilities

In the Sekiro game, you don't have access to all existing abilities at the beginning. Instead, you'll have to go to certain locations and find texts to unlock new abilities. Get an overview of the skills in Sekiro and how to get them.

Sekiro: These different types of skills are available

When you start the game Sekiro, with the path of the shinobi, you initially only have one skill tree. However, you can unlock more skills during the game by finding esoteric texts and thus improve your character. If you manage to unlock all the abilities, this will even be rewarded with the "Master of Technique" trophy. You can find out which abilities are available in the menu under "Abilities". In total, there are four types of skills:

1. The skill "Martial Arts" includes unique combat techniques, of which you can only ever actively upgrade one.
2. The Shinobi Martial Arts in turn include additional combat techniques such as counters or parries.
3. Unlock the skill tree "Latent Skills", you get passive bonuses that are always active.
4. The last is the Ninjutsu Techniques, which include special techniques that come into play after backstabbing death blows.

Finding the Esoteric Texts in Sekiro

To unlock all the abilities, you need to find the various Esoteric Texts. Two of these texts, the Shinobi Esoteric Text and the Prosthetic Esoteric Text, can be found at the Maroon Temple. The Ashina esoteric text can be found in the Ashina area from the Tengu there. The Senpo esoteric text can be found near the Senpo Temple in a larger pagoda. There is also the Mushin esoteric text, which you get by defeating the dragon at Ashina Castle.
