Google Stadia: Crowd Play introduced - all info

With Google Stadia, the focus will be on borderless gaming via cloud, completely independent of own hardware. Nevertheless, the other features are also worth a look. We introduce Crowd Play.

With Crowd Play, streamers and their viewers are supposed to be able to play together spontaneously.

There is not yet too much official information about Crowd Play. However, the basic functionality is already known.

Google Stadia: Crowd Play addresses the streaming crowd

Crowd Play allows you to hook directly into a game you are watching in a stream.
  • The feature thus only affects multiplayer games.
  • In addition, there are logical limitations, as each multiplayer session only allows a maximum number of players.
  • The host, in this case the streamer, can make further settings. It is likely that the streamer will be able to invite individual players via crowd play.
The basic idea is nevertheless promising: if you see a stream that you like and makes you want to play, you can simply click to enter the ongoing session. Since there is no longer a game installation at Google Stadia, this is possible at any time quite spontaneously. With more detailed info on Crowd Play is expected before the launch of the service in November.
