Thunderbird does not save password

With the Thunderbird e-mail program you can send and receive your e-mails conveniently. Normally, after successfully connecting to the server, you can enter your password directly and save it if needed. So you don't need to enter it every time.

This is why Thunderbird does not save your password

When logging in, you can enable the option in Thunderbird via the password manager to save your password for the next logins. If you don't see this dialog box, or if auto-save suddenly stops working, then you can fix the problem with a few mouse clicks.
  1. One possible cause of this issue is that the browser settings or the settings of another email program have excluded saving passwords. This overwrites Thunderbird's settings and saving your password is no longer possible.
  2. To fix the problem, first go to Thunderbird's settings.
  3. Now open the configuration editor.
  4. A blank line appears where you enter the following command: "signon.rememberSignons".
  5. You will now see one or two lines in the table below.
  6. Click with the right mouse button on the row that contains the above command in exact notation.
  7. In the field that now opens, now select "Toggle".
  8. There you set the value from "false" to "true".
  9. This should now be displayed to you at the end of the line and thus corresponds to the default.
Now saving your password in Thunderbird works again without restrictions.
