View song lyrics on Spotify: how to do it

The lyrics play an important role in many songs. To understand them better, song lyrics have been widely available online for years. But what about when using Spotify? We explain the situation.

Especially with songs in foreign languages, song lyrics are important to understand every word. With Spotify, this is now possible, albeit with limitations.

This is how Spotify shows you song lyrics

For a long time, Spotify itself did not include song lyrics, unlike its competitor Amazon Music. This has since changed, as external help has been brought on board:

• For some time now, Spotify has counted Genius as a partner. Genius originates from the U.S. and is a platform for music news and charts as well as song database at the same time.
• For Spotify users, this means: during a song, tap on "Current track" at the bottom and then scroll down. There you can see the lyrics as well as further info about the song, according to the "Behind the Lyrics" feature.

The popular add-on app SoundHound is thus no longer mandatory. However, there are restrictions to consider, as there are not yet song lyrics for all songs. In addition, the lyrics are only visible in the app and the feature is only available in English.
