FaceTime conference with multiple people

Apple has created a service with its chat service FaceTime that allows you to call all your contacts via video and audio. To do this, you just need to be connected to the Internet. You can also use FaceTime in a conference, meaning you can talk to multiple people on the phone at the same time.

How is a FaceTime conference set up?

With FaceTime, you can start a video chat with a single person and an audio chat with several other people. If you want to start a video chat with multiple people, you will need to resort to another app, as FaceTime does not offer this feature. To start an audio chat:

1. You have two options to call a contact. Either you use Siri and say "FaceTime with <name of the person you want to call>" or you manually go to your contacts and press the name of the respective person. After that, go to the little video icon. Of course, you can also just open FaceTime and then press the name of the person there.
2. Now pause the first call by pressing the hold icon.
3. Now use the Add function to invite another user into the conversation.
4. The other caller is added and the two calls are merged.

If you prefer a video conference call, you need to use an alternative app. Es empfiehlt sich beispielsweise Hangouts oder Skype als App.
