Discord: Use Spotify bot for music

Is there a Spotify bot for Discord? Yes and no, because you can use Spotify through Discord without a bot at all. However, if you are unhappy with the integration of the popular music streaming service, you also have the option to resort to many music bots that also access your music from Spotify.

Without a bot at all: Use Spotify via Discord

If you have a Spotify Premium account and your friends do too, why not start a listening party in Discord? Your friends can join and you'll be listening to the same music together at the same time. Unfortunately, the service is only available if you have Spotify Premium. Otherwise, you can only display in Discord, which songs you are currently listening to on Spotify.
  1. Start Discord.
  2. Then open the user settings at the bottom left by clicking on the gear icon.
  3. Open the tab "Connections" and click on "Spotify" in the list.
  4. Now enter your credentials for Spotify in the browser.
  5. Your friends can then simply click on the play button in Discord by your name to listen along. This will only be displayed when you are listening to music.

Using Music Bots with Spotify

In addition to this method, there is also the option to play Spotify songs via bots or post them in Discord chat. On the official Discord Bots website, you can find many different bots that support Spotify under the search term Spotify. How exactly the integration works and which commands you need for it differs between the programs. Usually, all you need to do is select the bot on the page and then click the "Add to Discord" button.
