Transferring a phone number to Vodafone - this is how it works

When switching mobile phone contracts, many users would like to take their old phone number with them to the new provider. Vodafone also offers such a call number transfer. How to apply for the change of your phone number to Vodafone and what costs are involved, you will learn in this article.

How the number transfer to Vodafone works

Even if you change your mobile provider, you have the option to continue using your old phone number. For this to work, however, it is necessary to apply for the number portability in good time. In the case of a mobile phone number, the application for number porting is possible at most until the third month after termination.
  1. If you would like to take your phone number with you to Vodafone, please cancel your current contract first or, as a prepaid customer, submit a waiver.
  2. Then conclude a new contract on the Vodafone website and apply for the porting of your current phone number.
  3. Vodafone will then apply for the number porting with your previous provider and inform you of a date on which the number porting will take place.
