To download a YouTube video to your iPhone, for example to send it to your contacts, you need a special app. Free of charge, the download is possible with the app Documents. How to install and use it, we explain here.

To download a YouTube video to your iPhone, you need the Documents app. To install it, open the App Store, search for "Documents" and tap "Download" next to the app.

1. Once you have installed the Documents app, please open it and click the "Safari icon" to open the browser inside the app.
2. Then type "http://de.savefrom.net/" in the browser search box and select "youtube.com".
3. Now switch to the YouTube app or open the YouTube website in your normal browser and search for the video you want to download.
4. Tap on the corresponding video on "Copy link" and paste the copied link in the search field of the Documents app.
5. Now still select in which format the video file should be saved and specify name and location.

Have you followed the previously described steps, the video is automatically downloaded to the app. Now, to move it to your iPhone, click the highlighted folder icon at the bottom of the app and open the folder where the file is stored. Tap the three dots next to the video, select "Move" from the options and click "All Photos" to save this to the Photos app.
