Avira won't start - how to get it running
With antivirus software like Avira Antivirus, you protect your computer from malware and other malicious software from the web. Usually, the protection software starts automatically when you boot your computer. If this does not happen, you have several options to fix the problem.
Check autostart and startup options
If Avira does not start as usual during system startup, an incorrect setting of the autostart options may be responsible.- Call the Windows Task Manager via the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Esc].
- Switch to the "Autostart" tab.
- Search the list for the various Avira antivirus applications and make sure that "Enabled" is in the "Status" column.
- If this is not the case, select the application and click "Enable" in the bottom right corner.
- Use Windows Search to access "Services".
- Search for all Avira services in the list and check that the "Startup type" is set to "Automatic".
- If this is not the case, right-click the corresponding service and select "Settings".
- Select "Automatic" in the "General" tab for Startup type and click "Apply".
