Cancel HanseMerkur - this is how it works
If you have taken out an insurance policy with HanseMerkur, you can usually only cancel it by observing a period of notice. In which cases you have a special right of termination and in which ways the termination is possible, we show you in this article.
HanseMerkur: These are the requirements for termination
HanseMerkur is one of the largest insurance companies in Germany and offers you different types of insurance such as pension, health or liability insurance. If you no longer need an insurance policy taken out with HanseMerkur or if you are not satisfied with the company's service and benefits, you can terminate your contract at the end of the insurance year. However, you must observe a notice period of three months in the case of ordinary termination. The only exception to this is if the premium of your insurance has been increased by at least 5%. Have you decided to terminate your insurance with HanseMerkur, it is important that you submit the termination in writing.- In the termination letter, be sure to include your personal information such as name and address and state the policy number of the contract you want to cancel.
- In contrast, stating a reason why you want to cancel your insurance is optional.
- Once you have prepared the termination letter, you can choose to send it to HanseMerkur by fax or e-mail. For this purpose, use the fax number 040/41193257 or the e-mail address [email protected].
