The Witcher 3: On the trail - how to solve the quest

In the game "The Witcher 3" you need to solve the side quest "On the trail" to continue in the game. The quest is very interesting because it takes you once from Novingrad to Skelling. In doing so, you will have to solve one part of the quest in Novigrad and one in Skelling.

On the Trail: Your tasks in Novingrad

You must have already completed the quest "Destination: Skelling" before you get the new quest on the Novingrad bulletin board.

1. Find the guard in the east of Novingrad and ask about the events. This will provide you with valuable information.
2. Following this, you must go to the jetty and explore the house with your witch sense. You will see that the tracks along the shore before they suddenly end.
3. Swim to the opposite shore at this point and follow the tracks. At the stairs you will be confronted with the monster, which you must kill.
4. After that, meet Lambert and help him. Watch the fight before you kill all three wardens and talk to Lambert afterwards.
5. Then visit the tavern and follow the dialogue. After deciding what to do with Vienne, you must travel to Skelling.

Continue in Skelling

Use the fast travel to Skelling and visit the island of Harviken.

1. Then ride east towards Trottheim, where you will be involved in an argument with the overseer. Either kill the raiders or come back later.
2. After that, take the path to the east, at the end of which Hammond and company await you. Kill Hammond.
3. Travel back to the tavern in Novingrad and talk to Lambert.
4. Before the quest is finished, you still have to decide about the life and death of the sorcerer Karadin.
