LinkedIn: Searching members

With over 600 million users worldwide, LinkedIn is considered the giant among professional networks. With just a few clicks, you can search for and add job opportunities, companies and new contacts on the platform. Learn how to use people search on LinkedIn here.

How to search for other members on LinkedIn

LinkedIn's search option works similarly to people search on other social networks. To search for members, follow these steps:
  1. Open LinkedIn and navigate to the search bar on the home page.
  2. Enter a specific keyword, such as a person's or organization's name, in the search box.
  3. A drop-down selection will then appear with suggestions based on your search. Through automatic text recognition, you will thus already receive new suggestions as you type.
  4. With one click, you select the respective person or organization, which takes you to the personal page of the user account.
If you have a LinkedIn Premium account, you can anonymize your search. Otherwise, the contact you are searching for can see that you have visited their profile. If you don't know the full name of the person you're looking for, just enter other information you know about them (for example, founders of Facebook).
