Change the language in Google Chrome: How to do it

German, English, Spanish, French or Chinese? Chrome thinks of all users and provides the appropriate language packs. Fortunately, activating them is quite simple. We show you how.

In Chrome, you can change the language at will with just a few clicks.

Chrome: Change language possible without much effort

Chrome's languages are hidden just a few clicks behind the interface. By adjusting the language, you can, among other things, improve autocorrect, for example when you enter text in a forum or in the CMS of your website.
  1. Click on the menu button with the three dots in the top right corner.
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. There you scroll all the way down and click on "Advanced".
  4. Click on the "Language" option under "Languages" to view a list of all available languages.
  5. Click "More" next to the language you want to use and select "Show Google Chrome in this language".
  6. To finish changing the language, please restart Google Chrome.
If your desired language is not available, click "Add languages" instead, browse for the appropriate language, click "OK", and then follow the instructions to enable it in Chrome.
