Excel: Use "SUMWENN" function
In the Excel spreadsheet program, you perform calculations and other adjustments to your table using various functions. For example, if you want to add the values in a certain range of your table, you can use the "SUM IF" function. Here you specify additional criteria to narrow down the values you use.
How to use the "SUMENN" function in Excel
In Excel, various functions offer you all the possibilities to adjust your tables or perform calculations. The "SUM IF" function consists of several parts. So it is possible to include criteria that limit the affected values. With this function you can add all values in a certain range.- Generally the function is described as "SUM_WENN(range;search criteria;[sum_range])".
- The range is needed to define which values from which cells have to be added together. Here, empty cells and text values are completely ignored.
- Followed by the criteria. Here you can specify which values should be considered. For example, a search criterion can be ">32" or "hat". Note that a question mark and * may occur in the criteria. The question mark here is a character, where the asterisk replaces a beige string.
- The "Sum_range" part is optional and therefore not mandatory to add. This range specifies the cells that should actually be added. This is only necessary if you want to add other arguments than you have previously described in the range.
