What is Sky Extra? We introduce the loyalty program

Sky wants to reward long-time subscribers and thus encourage them to remain loyal to the service for the long term. Our guide explains what Sky Extra is all about and who can use the service.

The Sky Extra test phase started back in 2018, but only for customers who had subscribed to Sky for at least ten years. In June 2019, the feature went live for all customers.

What is Sky Extra and what rewards are there?

Sky Extra is available to all subscribers. First, you need to register for the program, at this address.

• As a welcome gift, you get to rent a movie for free. You can redeem this gift within three months.
• Besides that, you get many other benefits, such as discount prices on Sky hardware and content, premium customer service, or even red carpet tickets for movie premieres.
• This depends on your tier, though - with Sky Extra, you can namely move up: With a contract period of less than two years, you are on bronze status, followed by silver (three to five years), then gold (six to nine years) and platinum (at least ten years).
