Deutsche Bahn: What is RAILPLUS? Our guide explains it

With RAILPLUS, Deutsche Bahn is also thinking about journeys outside Germany's borders. With us, you can find out who can use the feature and what benefits it actually brings.

Beyond the borders, RAILPLUS means cheaper ticket purchases for international routes.

Rail is also a popular mode of transport for trips abroad. RAILPLUS helps save money.

German Rail: Travel cheaper abroad with RAILPLUS

Here's the most important info on RAILPLUS:
  • RAILPLUS is directly linked to the BahnCard and always included. It does not matter which BahnCard you own.
  • The separate booking of RAILPLUS is not possible.
  • RAILPLUS is a cooperation of various European railroad companies. As a result, cross-border traffic should be cheaper.
  • With RAILPLUS, you thus get a discount on the flex price, which is on the foreign route, if you leave Germany by train.
  • You always get the RAILPLUS discount for the car class of your BahnCard.
The participating railroad companies cover virtually all major countries, whether in the south with Italy, Spain and Croatia, in the north with Denmark and Norway or in the east with Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Eine vollständige Auflistung finden Sie hier.
