Microsoft Teams: Mute
With Microsoft Teams, you can schedule and conduct group calls. In order to ensure the smoothest possible flow, you can mute your microphone during a meeting. As the organizer, you also have the option to mute other participants. Here's how.
How to mute your microphone during a Microsoft Teams meeting
If you want to avoid having your microphone active during a Teams meeting, you can mute it with just one click and undo it just as easily. To do this, navigate your mouse to the menu bar during a meeting and click on the "microphone icon". As soon as it appears as crossed out, you are muted. To unmute, click on the microphone again. You can also temporarily disable your camera this way. How to mute other participants during a meeting As the organizer of a group call in teams, you can easily mute other participants yourself:- Click next to "Participants" on the "Three-dot menu" and there on "Do not allow participants to unmute". This prevents participants from un-muting themselves.
- Within the menu, click on "Mute all participants" to mute the microphones of all participants across the board.
- Alternatively, you can mute individual participants by clicking on the "Microphone icon" in the participant list as desired and un-mute them by clicking again.
