Mute Zoom: How to do it

Zoom has become one of the most popular applications for virtual meetings. To prevent all participants from speaking at once during a meeting, the host can mute other participants. Even as a user yourself, you can turn the microphone on and off as needed.

How to mute other participants in Zoom

Even during a presentation, turned-on microphones from other participants can be distracting. As the host of a meeting at Zoom, you can activate muting for all participants with just a few clicks:

1. During the meeting, click on "Manage participants"
2. There, click on the "Mute all" option. Now all participants are muted.
3. In addition, you will be asked whether the participants themselves can unmute or not.
4. To unmute all participants again, proceed in the same way.

Mute your own microphone at Zoom

At Zoom, you can set your microphone to be muted by default when you join a meeting:

1. Open Zoom and go to "Settings".
