Fortnite: Crossplay finally also with PS4 players

The topic of crossplay still causes heated tempers, as Sony consistently blocks it. However, there is good news for Fortnite players: in the cult shooter, PS4 players will also be able to compete against other platforms in the future.

One game for all platforms: Fortnite crossplay is now available to PS4 players.

Fortnite: Crossplay with beta test for PS4

Between the Xbox and PC versions of Fortnite, crossplay has been possible for some time. With the PS4, millions of players are now added. Sony announced the following information:
  • In the near future, the feature will be extensively tested via open beta. This is already started.
  • As an argument, Sony cites, above all, the safety of players want to ensure.
Whether the Japanese company has ultimately bowed only to the growing pressure of the media and the community, remains open. The result does not change anything: In the future, all platforms on which Fortnite is available will thus be compatible with each other. Fortnite is available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile for Android and iOS. Of course, this also affects matchmaking - to the delight of PC players, who have a significant advantage with mouse and keyboard (as usual in shooters).

How to use crossplay in Fortnite
