Apple Watch: water drop - the meaning of the symbol

If you see the symbol of a water drop on the display of your Apple Watch, this is no cause for concern. In fact, the water drop is merely a status icon that appears at the top of the Apple Watch screen.

This is the meaning of the water drop icon on the Apple Watch

The Apple Watch has several status signs and icons displayed at the top of your smartwatch screen. One of these icons is a green-blue water droplet.
  1. If this appears on the screen of your Apple Watch, it means that the watch's water protection has been activated.
  2. Water protection is automatically activated whenever you start a workout on your Apple Watch and select one of the options "Pool Swimming" or "Open Water Swimming".
  3. If the Apple Watch is in water protection mode, its screen is locked to prevent accidental input by water drops.
  4. To unlock and use the Apple Watch again, you only need to turn the Digital Crown.

Water drops: these other symbols of the Apple Watch are important

As mentioned earlier, the Apple Watch has other status signs in addition to the water drop icon. For example, a red lightning bolt indicates that your watch's battery needs to be charged, and a green lightning bolt appears while the watch is charging. If flight mode or do not disturb mode is activated, you can tell by the airplane and crescent moon icons, respectively. If, on the other hand, you see a red X or the symbol of a crossed-out cell phone on the display of the Apple Watch, there are problems with the connection to the mobile network or the iPhone.
