Android 11: Change icons - these are your options

As you are used to from previous Android versions, you can also customize the user interface in Android 11. However, if you want to change the app icons, this only works with additional tools. Learn here what options you have to change the icons on your smartphone.

How to change your app icons in Android 11

In the Android 11 settings, you can conveniently customize the user interface of your smartphone. For example, Android allows you to customize elements such as the background, font size or font. However, if it is about the icons of apps, this does not work with the on-board means, but only with the help of additional software. With an alternative launcher, for example, you have the option of using icon packages. Both the launcher and various icon packages can be found via the Google Play Store. One option, for example, is the free Nova Launcher.
  1. Download the Nova Launcher from the Google Play Store and install the app on your smartphone.
  2. Next, download an icon pack from the store.
  3. Then call up the App Drawer and tap on "Nova Settings".
  4. Tap on "Appearance" in the settings and there on the menu item "Icon Theme".
  5. Select the previously downloaded icon package and confirm the selection. Der Launcher startet anschließend neu, sodass alle Apps im neuen Look erscheinen.
Alternativ lassen sich die Icons auch ohne einen Launcher über Apps wie Awesome Icons oder X Icon Charger anpassen.
