Android 9: Change icons - how to do it

On Android smartphones you have numerous options to customize the device according to your wishes. Here you can also change the font color and type. If you want to use other app icons, this is also possible. You can adapt these according to your wishes or use icons from older versions.

How to change the design of app icons on Android 9

If you do not like the current icons of various apps, you have the option to change them. There are numerous applications available for this purpose. For example, you can use the Awesome Icons app.

1. First download the app from the Google Play Store and install it on your smartphone.
2. Start the app. Now you will see all installed apps in alphabetical order.
3. Next to the name of the app, you will see different icons for it. Click the corresponding name to select the icon. Additionally, you can download and use more icons from the Internet. Also, the app gives you the option to customize the name of the app to your liking.
4. There are more options, a camera and an icon for the picture gallery. If you choose the camera, you can take a picture with your smartphone and use it as an icon. Optionally, it is possible to select an existing image from your gallery.
