Honor View 20: Screen black - what you can do

The Honor View 20 has a 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,310 pixels. It also has a hole for the camera, allowing the display to extend across the entire smartphone. If this suddenly turns black, then different causes can be behind it. These cannot always be remedied.

What you can do if the screen of the Honor View 20 turns black

When using the Honor View 20, the so-called "black screen" can occur. In this case, the screen turns black and no longer responds to inputs. If this is the case for you, there are several options. First, however, you should force a restart.
  1. Hold down the power button and the volume button simultaneously for at least 20 seconds.
  2. The smartphone should now restart automatically and the familiar start screen should be displayed.
  3. If that does not work, also connect the device to a charger. Possibly only the battery is empty. In this case, wait some time until the device is charged.
  4. If none of the methods work, it may be that the display is defective. In this case, only a repair of the device helps. This may be included in the warranty. Alternatively, you can have the smartphone repaired by the manufacturer for a fee. Since the repair is quite difficult, it is not advisable to do it yourself, if you have never done such a thing.
