How to connect Apple Pencil to iPad

No matter what iPad model you own, connecting to Apple Pencil works the same way on all devices. Follow these steps to connect the Apple Pencil:

1. Make sure the Apple Pencil has enough battery. Charge the Pencil if necessary.
2. Activate the Bluetooth connection on your iPad. This works either via the quick launch menu or via the tablet's setting.
3. Push the Apple Pencil with the Lightning connector into the iPad's Lightning port until the pairing request appears on the display.
4. Finally confirm the connection and pull the pencil out of the Lightning port.

Once you have connected your Apple Pencil to your iPad, the pencil will automatically connect to the tablet from now on.
