Change Steam profile picture: How easy it is

On Steam, the focus is on networking with other players. Active players therefore maintain their profile particularly well. Our guide explains how you can change your profile picture.

Individual or pre-made: Your profile picture can be changed in a few minutes.

The profile picture is called Avatar in Steam, but nothing changes in terms of content.

Steam: Change profile picture in a few steps

Proceed as follows:

1. Click on your profile name in the top right corner of the Steam client.
2. Select "View my profile" and then "Edit profile".
3. There you will see the "Avatar" section with an empty field. You have two options: Decide on one of the three format sizes (184 pixels, 64 pixels, 32 pixels) and select a file to upload. The alternative is an official avatar, which is already pre-made.

In both cases, the new profile picture is directly active and visible to your contacts.
