For this, you do not need any additional software for your Apple tablet, but you can use the already pre-installed applications. How to open a ZIP file on iPad

Since the update to iOS 8, you have the option to open ZIP files directly on your iPad. If you have received a ZIP file via email or as a message, you can do this by opening the Mail or Messages app, respectively, and tapping the ZIP file there to open it using the Preview app. Users who have iOS 11 installed on their iPad can also open ZIP files from Dropbox. To do this, however, you must first download the ZIP file to the iPad's Files app and then open it there.

iPad: Editing a ZIP file after opening it

Whether you open a ZIP file directly in the app or download it to the Files app beforehand, you can only open and view the ZIP file you receive in this way. If, on the other hand, you want to edit the ZIP files you receive, you can only do so by installing an additional app such as Word.

1. To open a ZIP file for editing, first download it and open the Files app.
