Securing SMS messages - with these tools it works

If you want to secure the text messages on your Android or iOS smartphone, it only works with the help of additional software. This is because neither Android nor iOS have a built-in feature that allows you to secure text messages.

SMS: Back up text messages on Android smartphones

Since Android itself does not offer a function for backing up SMS, you have to resort to additional software such as "SMS Backup & Restore".

1. Install the app "SMS Backup & Restore" on your smartphone.
2. Start the app and tap on "Backup".
3. Select whether the backup should be stored in Dropbox, Google Drive or locally.
4. Log in with your Dropbox or Google Drive account if necessary.
5. Now select the data that should be backed up.
6. Click "Create backup now".

Also on Apple devices, you need to use additional software such as "CopyTrans" to back up SMS.

1. Install "CopyTrans" on your computer.
2. Connect your iPhone to the computer via USB cable and launch "CopyTrans".
