Alexa and cell phone: how to connect

The initial connection setup takes some time, but afterwards your smartphone will automatically connect to the Echo device.

1. First you need to enable Bluetooth on both your smartphone and the Echo device.
2. Following this, open the Alexa app and select the item "Devices".
3. You will now get several options in the overview, from which you click on the version "Echo and Alexa".
4. Now you need to select your Echo. Make sure you select the correct device if you have multiple Echos available.
5. Now you need to click on the "Bluetooth Device" option and click on the "Pair a new device" option.
6. The connection setup may take some time. By shortening the distance between your smartphone and Echo, you can speed up the process.

To pair your phone with multiple Echo devices

To use Alexa anywhere, you have the option to pair your smartphone with multiple Echo devices. However, you will have to repeat the process for each Bluetooth connection. To keep track of the devices, you should choose the device names uniquely. Because once the devices are paired, if Bluetooth is turned on, your smartphone will automatically connect to the closest Echo device.
