Smartphone as a dictation device - these are the options you have

Do you want to capture a thought on the go, but don't want to type for a long time? Then you can simply use your smartphone as a voice recorder. With both Android smartphones and iPhones, you can conveniently record voice memos.

How to use your iPhone as a voice recorder

One of the pre-installed apps on the iPhone is the Voice Memo app, which turns your smartphone into a voice recorder. You can find the app in the "Utilities" or "Extras" folder on your home screen.
  1. Open the Voice Memos app.
  2. Tap the red button to start a new audio recording. It will then show you the duration and audio track on the display.
  3. Use the pause button to pause the recording. Tap "Next" to continue.
  4. Tap "Done" to end the recording. The voice memo will then show up at the top of the list of recordings you find in the main view of the app.
