Convert PDF to EPUB: These options are available

On an eBook reader, you can also read PDFs, but the format cannot be changed. By converting to an EPUB, you get a much more flexible file. We explain how the conversion works.

How to convert PDFs to EPUBs - but this is to be considered

Generally, you can easily convert PDFs to EPUB files. One of the most popular programs is Calibre:

1. Drag the PDF into Calibre's overview list.
2. Right-click on the document (in Calibre) and select "Convert Books".
3. An additional window will open with numerous options. Especially important is "Target format" in the upper right corner - select "EPUB" from the list there. Other well-known formats such as AZW3 and MOBI are also available.
4. Then click "Ok" at the bottom right.

The window closes and the document has been converted. However, this often shows that not everything has worked as desired, such as strange sentence breaks and unwanted paragraphs. This is not due to Calibre, but to the nature of PDFs, which with their rigid properties are not perfectly suited for conversion to EPUBs. Post-processing is therefore usually necessary.
