Windows: Change mouse pointer - how to do it

If you don't like the white mouse pointer on your Windows PC, you can change it at any time. The quickest way to do this is through the operating system settings by selecting one of the pre-installed themes.

This is how you change the Windows mouse pointer via the settings

By default, Windows uses a white arrow as the mouse pointer. If you do not like this, you have the option to change the mouse pointer via the Windows settings.
  1. To make the change, please first press the "Windows" + "I" keys on your computer keyboard to enter the settings.
  2. In the window that opens, then navigate to "Personalization" > "Design" and click on the "Mouse pointer" entry.
  3. Thereupon another window opens, in which you please switch to the tab "Pointer" and select under "Scheme" one of the available mouse pointer designs.
  4. Finally click on "Apply" and close the window with "OK".

Alternatively, you can also find a variety of designs for the mouse pointer on the Internet, which you can download and use. To do this, visit a website such as DeviantArt or Icons8 and download the desired design to the "C:\Windows\Cursors" directory. Next, go to the cursor settings and double-click on the cursor you want to customize. Now navigate to the previously downloaded file, select it and finally click on "Apply".
