MacBook generations - these are already released

If you want to buy a new laptop, you have devices from different manufacturers to choose from. If you decide on a MacBook, then you have to choose again between different MacBook generations. Thereby, numerous versions of the device have already appeared.

These MacBook generations exist

Nearly every year, new MacBooks from Apple appear. The different generations usually differ in the built-in hardware or the ports offered. You can easily find out which generation you own.

1. The first MacBook was released in 2006. The different generations can usually be recognized by the year in which this is first offered for sale.
2. The latest MacBooks have appeared in 2019 in four different versions. However, the differences lie not only in the screen size, but also in the technical specifications. So you can decide for yourself how much additional memory or RAM you need.
3. If you do not know which generation your model is from, you can find out via the "About this Mac" option. To do this, click on the Apple logo in the top left corner and select "About this Mac". Here is usually also the generation of your device.
4. Alternatively, you can call the app "System Information". Denn auch hier wird die Generation angezeigt.
5. Auch an der Seriennummer erkennen Sie, aus welcher Generation das MacBook stammt. Hier müssen Sie die ersten fünf Ziffern mit einer entsprechenden Liste auf der Apple-Webseite vergleichen.
