CMD error: access denied - what you can do

In Windows, you have access to the system's console, also called command prompt. Through various commands, you have the ability to make changes or edit applications. When you enter a command, the execution works in most cases. Nevertheless, the error "Access denied" may occur.

This is what you can do if you get the "Access denied" error

Use cmd.exe to open the command line or PowerShell in Windows. You then enter various commands into the command prompt, which you can use to copy, edit and move files, for example. If you receive the error "Access denied" when entering a command, this can have various causes.

1. Be aware that you need certain access rights to access some folders. Therefore, log in as administrator and try to execute the command again. This applies especially to system-relevant folders.
2. Also try to run Console as administrator. To do this, click on the command prompt and select the option "Run as administrator" in the context menu.
