L'Italia è assente da tutte le top ten di velocità e copertura della rete 5G: lo dice l'ultimo report di Opensignal.
Anche in Italia la rete mobile 5G avanza, seppur non a velocità elevatissima, ma il nostro Paese è ancora lontano dalla qualità (e quantità) del servizio offerta all’estero. Lo dice il report di Opensignal “Benchmarking the Global 5G Experience“, appena pubblicato con i dati aggiornati al 31 marzo.
Dati recentissimi, quindi, che fotografano la situazione attuale del 5G in Italia, la copertura e, soprattutto, la velocità media della connessione. Che è molto più bassa di quella che si registra nei Paesi della top ten del 5G. O, meglio, delle tante top ten stilate da Opensignal: città con il 5G più veloce, Paesi con la velocità di picco 5G maggiore, Paesi con la velocità di download media in 5G maggiore e Paesi con la velocità di upload media in 5G maggiore. None of these rankings include Italy or any individual Italian city. To win the comparison are above all the cities and states of the Far East, the United Arab Emirates and some European countries such as Holland, Finland, Spain, Switzerland and Austria.
5G in Italy: the speed
In Italy the average download speed on 5G network is 100 Mbps, the peak download speed is 484 Mbps, the peak upload speed is 15 Mbps. These Italian data should be compared with those of the countries in the top ten, to understand the gap between us and them.
The highest average download speed is that of South Korea, equal to 361 Mbps (3.6 times exactly the Italian speed). The maximum peak speed in download is recorded by the United Arab Emirates, with 863 Mbps, the one in upload by Taiwan, with 36 Mbps.
5G in Italy: the coverage
If in Italy 5G doesn't shine for speed, according to Opensignal's surveys, it doesn't shine for coverage either: in a scale from 1 to 10, in fact, Opensignal assigns a coverage equal to 1.2 to our country. This translates into a time of use of the 5G network equal to just 6.4% of the total time spent online by the user.
The best results in these two metrics are obtained by Hong Kong, with a coverage equal to 6.1, and Kuwait with 29% of the time spent by users on the 5G network.
