September was a very important month for Apple: in addition to the presentation of the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and AirPods (the new Bluetooth earphones), the Cupertino-based company also released the latest release of its mobile operating system iOS 10.
Listening to CEO Tim Cook's statements, iOS 10 is the biggest update ever released by Apple for its operating system, and indeed, there is no shortage of new features. Starting from the good base provided by iOS 9, the Cupertino development team has included features that allow you to improve the usability of the smartphone and speed up some processes. Quali device sono compatibili con l’aggiornamento a iOS 10?
L’obsolescenza programmata è una brutta bestia e lo sanno bene tutti i possessori di smartphone con qualche paio di anni sulle spalle. È impossibile trovar aggiornamenti al software e la sicurezza contro gli attacchi degli hacker diventa una chimera. Per questo motivo è fondamentale sapere se il proprio iPhone o iPad riceverà l’ultima release sviluppata da Cupertino. Per quanto riguarda l’iPhone, l’aggiornamento riguarderà tutti gli iPhone da 5 in poi. Invece sul fronte tablet i fortunati sono: iPad Mini 2, 3 e 4, l’iPad di quarta generazione, iPad Air e iPad Air 2 e l’iPad Pro sia da 9,7’’ sia da 12,9’’. Infine, anche l’ultima generazione di iPod touch (la sesta) riceverà la release di iOS 10.

I nuovi widget Apple
Una delle nuove funzionalità introdotte con iOS 10 più apprezzate dagli utenti è sicuramente la possibilità di consultare i widget dalla schermata di blocco del device. Infatti, basterà accendere lo schermo, fare uno swipe verso destra e si accederà a una nuova sezione dove saranno mostrati tutti i widget che Apple ha scelto ha scelto per noi. Oltre al meteo e al promemoria l’utente potrà aggiungere o togliere widget premendo semplicemente il tasto Modifica. Cancellare le app di default
Apple ha sempre offerto un pacchetto di applicazioni sviluppate dai programmatori di Cupertino: Meteo, Calendario, Mappe. Fino a iOS 9 anche se non venivano utilizzate dall’utente, non era possibile cancellarle dallo smartphone per liberare memoria o molto semplicemente per non fornire i propri dati personali ad Apple. Con iOS 10, l’azienda di Cupertino, offre questa possibilità: gli utenti potranno molto liberamente decidere se tenere o meno le applicazioni targate Apple sul proprio smartphone. Purtroppo questa possibilità non è disponibile per tutte le app: ad esempio Salute non può essere eliminata dal proprio iPhone 7.

Con iOS 10 l’utente ha diverse possibilità per sbloccare il proprio nuovo iPhone 7. Grazie alla tecnologia Touch ID si potrà sia poggiare semplicemente il pollice sul tasto Home o premerlo fino in fondo per sbloccare il device, tutto dipenderà dalle abitudini dell’utente. Infatti, se si apre la fotocamera con il riproduttore musicale attivo, il brano continuerà senza nessun problema. Si bloccherà solamente nel caso in cui si inizierà a registrare un video. Una nuova funzionalità richiesta a gran voce dagli utenti Apple che la vedevano come una limitazione nell’usabilità dello smartphone o del tablet.

Premendo sul messaggio ricevuto, appariranno sullo schermo diversi sticker che l’utente potrà utilizzare come risposta.
