With the World Championship now awarded, the final four races on the 2019 MotoGP calendar are mostly to see if Marc Marquez will continue to dominate the championship riding his Honda. On the weekend of October 18-20, 2019, the 2019 MotoGP Japanese GP will be raced at the Motegi circuit, a track that on paper is favorable to Honda.
The first free practice, however, told a different story. The best time was recorded by Fabio Quartararo, the rookie who is impressing for consistency in this second phase of the season, aboard the Yamaha Petronas. Behind him, with a gap of more than 3 tenths, is the official Yamaha of Vinales. Only third Marquez who, however, has done a different job, focused mainly on the race. The favorite for the pole of the Japanese GP seems to be Quartararo, but the World Champion is ready to give battle. The first Italian is Dovizioso, fourth with Ducati, followed by Valentino Rossi and Franco Morbidelli.
