Telegram: People nearby - how to use it

Telegram is a messenger service designed for communication. For example, you can connect with your family and friends, join groups as well as follow other users' channels. In addition, you can also find out which participants are in your vicinity.

How to find people near you

With the "People near you" function, you can find users on Telegram who are from your immediate vicinity. For this purpose, the app has a feature that shows you the distance almost to the meter and through which you can find out which participants in your vicinity are also networked on "Telegram". Before you activate these features for yourself, you should think about whether you want your location to be made available not only to users, but also to the owners of the app.

1. First, open the app "Telegram.
2. Now open your chat bar and navigate to your menu via the button at the top left.
3. Now select "People nearby".
4. Followed by the question whether you want to allow access. This allows you to be seen by other users. Decline, you can do so via the arrow at the top left and still use the function.
