Let your SIM card be blocked: This is how easy it is
If you lose your cell phone or it has been stolen, this is not only annoying that the terminal is no longer in your possession. To ensure that you are protected in an emergency, you can take some precautions to be on the safe side. However, if it is already too late, you can also have your SIM card blocked.
How to block your SIM card
To block your SIM card, you need to contact your provider's customer service or block the card online yourself if this service is offered. Depending on the provider, it may happen that costs are incurred for the blocking. In some cases, there are only costs for the new SIM card. However, other providers, such as Vodafone, perform the service free of charge. Try to locate your smartphone before blocking it, if possible. To make it harder for thieves, you should also always activate your PIN so that it has to be entered when the phone is switched on or, preferably, when the screen is activated. In general, you can have your SIM card blocked by letter, by phone or, with some providers, online. So that the blocking should be as fast as possible in case of urgency, such as theft or loss of the device, it is best to call the customer service.- Telekom: 01803-302202
