iPhone 12 won't turn on - what you can do
Nowadays, this problem is probably one of the worst that can happen to you in your everyday life: Your iPhone 12 won't turn on. We tell you what you need to do to restore access to important information and appointments as quickly as possible.
If there is no problem with your iPhone's battery, go through the following steps one by one:
- Connect the iPhone 12 to the charging cable and this to a power source (wall outlet or other). If the iPhone is deeply discharged, it may well take a few hours until it gives the first sign of life.
- The next option is a hard reset. Briefly press the volume up button, briefly press the volume down button and hold down the power button while doing so. If the Apple logo appears, you have done it.
- If this step also brought nothing, you should try to restore your iPhone using iTunes or iCloud. To do this, simply connect the iPhone to your PC and select the last saved backup.
How to use the maintenance mode of the iPhone 12
Have all the steps mentioned so far shown no effect, there is still the possibility to restore the iPhone 12 via the maintenance mode. This so-called DFU mode is used to reinstall your iPhone 12 when it no longer turns on due to serious problems. To do this, simply connect it to your computer and perform the following key combinations:- Press the Volume Down button briefly, press the Volume Down button briefly, hold the right Power button for 10 seconds and meanwhile press the Volume Down button for 5 seconds.
- Finally release the Power button and hold the Volume Down button for 10 seconds.
- Have you done everything correctly, you will see an iTunes notification that the maintenance state has been detected.
