Outlook Shortcut: Work Efficiently

In many programs you can use keyboard shortcuts to quickly perform certain tasks - this is of course also true for Outlook. In both the desktop version and the web application, you'll find handy shortcuts to work with in Outlook.

These shortcuts are available in Outlook

There are many shortcuts for Outlook that allow you to quickly perform certain actions. This is especially handy for functions you use very often.
  • Alt + H: Switch to the "Help" tab.
  • Ctrl + Shift + M: Open a window to compose a new message.
  • Alt + S: Send a message.
  • Select message + Del: Delete a message.
  • Ctrl + 2: Switch to the calendar.
  • Ctrl + Shift + A: Create a new appointment.
There are also combinations where keys must be pressed simultaneously and then other keys in quick succession. These are separated by a comma below. Click "Alt" when the program is open, you will also see the different keys you need to press to activate the corresponding button.

Key shortcuts for Outlook in the web application

Also in the web application of Outlook, there are useful functions that you can call up with a combination of keys, instead of having to click through menus and buttons awkwardly. But beware: The commands are partly different from the desktop application.
  • Ctrl + N: Create a new message.
  • Ctrl + F: Forward a mail.
  • Ctrl + Alt + F: Forward a mail as attachment.
  • Ctrl + 2: Open the calendar.
  • Ctrl + R: Reply to a message.
