Excel Shortcuts - how to use the program efficiently

Excel is one of the most popular office applications along with Word. With the program you can perform various calculations and spreadsheets. Excel provides you with some automation features to make your life easier. Use the shortcuts to work even faster with the software.

What are the shortcuts in Excel?

If you often deal with Excel, constantly switching from keyboard to mouse and back again is very tiring. For this reason, Excel offers a variety of shortcuts. This saves you time, because the commands can be executed without a mouse.
  1. Generally, the standard Windows shortcuts apply to Excel: "F4" you use to close the program directly, with "Tab" you jump to the next cell, "Enter" takes you to the next cell below and with the arrow keys you move on within the table.
  2. If you press "Ctrl" before tapping the space bar, you can thus select an entire column. With "Ctrl" and "Minus" you delete a whole column, with "Plus" you add a new column. With "Ctrl" + "A" everything is marked and you can edit all rows and columns at once.
  3. With the combination "Ctrl" + "Z" you can undo all changes you have made to the document. "Ctrl" + "2", "3", "4" or "5" makes the text bold, italic, underlined or strikethrough. With "Ctrl" + "End" you jump to the last line used.
