Pairing AirPods with PS4 - what you need to know

Many people use gaming to unwind from a hard day at work. In order not to disturb others, it is a good idea that you use a headset to play. Due to this, the question arises whether it is possible to use AirPods instead of a headset.

What conditions must be present?

In principle, you can connect all Bluetooth headsets with the PS4. However, the connection does not always work with the AirPods.Generally, Playstation only guarantees that all Bluetooth headsets can be connected to the device, which are specified on the packaging. The AirPods or Apple products are not among them. However, it is worth the test:

1. Start your Playstation and open the settings on the device.
2. Go to the "Devices" section in the menu and select "Bluetooth Devices" there.
3. Start searching for available devices. Meanwhile, press the setup button on the case the AirPods are in.
4. Wait for the home bar to flash and only then release the setup button.
5. A list of compatible and available devices should now appear on your screen. Select the AirPods on there.
6. Click on the AirPods and confirm that you want to connect.

What can cause the connection to fail?

It is possible that the AirPods are not found. This may be due to the maximum number of devices connected to the Playstation 4. In this case, delete unneeded connections and try again. It may also be that the system version of your AirPods is preventing it from connecting. In this case, it makes sense to switch to an alternative Bluetooth headset.
