Making a TV out of cardboard - here's how to do it
Kids love to play with cardboard boxes. Why not allow yourself the fun and make a TV out of cardboard together with your child. Afterwards, you can even use the TV for a show of your own.
How to craft a TV from cardboard
Some cardboard TV models exist, ranging from very light (all the buttons are just painted on) to very heavy (the smallest details are recreated with cardboard). Depending on how much time you have, you can decide whether you want to include more details or rather not.- Take a cardboard box that seems big enough. Make sure the cardboard is rectangular.
- Fold a piece of paper that is slightly smaller than the front of the cardboard twice, always on the longer side.
- Now cut the corner where all the corners of the paper meet to make a curve. The paper can now be used as a template for the screen of the TV.
- Draw once around the template and cut out the appropriate piece from the cardboard. Now you have the choice whether you want to just draw everything or prefer to continue tinkering.
- Cut out a smaller rectangular piece from the piece you cut out earlier and glue it next to the TV opening. Now you have a button pad.
