Fire TV Stick no sound - these are the possible causes
Amazon's goal with its Fire TV Stick is to turn old TVs into Smart TVs. This is a cost-effective alternative to buying a completely new TV. However, if you don't hear any sound, check some possible causes.
What can you do if the Fire TV Stick does not play sound?
- Check that you have not muted your TV. This can happen accidentally and can be fixed in seconds.
- Check if all your connections are working. HDMI sends all video and audio signals through the same port at a very high transfer rate. Unlike old connections where you had many different cables, a fault can now be on a single cable. Just because the video playback works, doesn't mean that the audio part will work as well. Therefore, try a different HDMI output. If you then hear the sound again, your HDMI port is defective.
- It is also possible that the internal speakers of your TV are defective. You can tell by the fact that you do not receive sound with any connected device.
- If the problem persists, the Fire TV Stick itself may also be the cause. Consult Amazon for this and have the stick checked.
