Streaming Sky Ticket abroad: Is that possible?

If you have an active account with Sky Ticket and want to use it abroad, the question arises whether this is possible at all. Our guide explains the situation and what to look out for.

European streaming community: within the EU, you can use Sky Ticket without restrictions.

The advantage of Sky Ticket is that you only need an Internet connection. When traveling, however, there is another point to consider.

Sky Ticket: Usable without problems in other EU countries

Sky Ticket falls under the same regulation as all streaming services:
  • The so-called Portability Regulation has been in effect since April 1, 2018. Thanks to this, you can use your streaming services anywhere in the EU as in the home country. This also includes Sky Ticket.
  • Also permitted is streaming in the EEA member states Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
  • But outside the EU and the aforementioned countries this does not apply - there you have no access to Sky Ticket.
So it is crucial in which country you are, because abroad is not the same as abroad. If you are in a non-EU country, you will not have access to Sky Ticket in the normal way, apart from detours such as the use of a VPN service.
