iCloud storage full - what you can do

If your iCloud storage is full, you can no longer upload content. Now it's important to free up storage so you don't lose data you still need. Photos and videos in particular take up the most storage space in iCloud.

What you can do if your iCloud storage is full

Not only can you use iCloud to back up your files, but you can also create backups there. So virtually every new app you install is backed up there, with many of the files used there being saved. This can take up a lot of storage space in some circumstances, and in most cases, it's not necessary. If you do not want to expand your storage space for a fee, you can resort to alternatives.

1. If the "Photos" option is activated in iCloud, you can also deactivate this in order to store your pictures on the PC in the future.
2. The same applies to iCloud Drive. You can also deactivate this option to gain more storage space. If necessary, delete previously no longer needed data, this provides additional storage capacity.
3. To disable the automatic backup function, first go to iCloud under the "Settings" app.
4. Then select "Storage" at the top and then navigate to "Manage Storage".
5. Now click on the appropriate backup and then go to "Show all apps".
6. Jetzt können Sie all jene Apps auswählen, für die Sie kein Backup in der iCloud möchten.
7. Zudem kann das Backup auch komplett gelöscht und anschließend neu aufgesetzt werden.
8. Um Speicherplatz zu sparen, können Sie stattdessen zukünftig Ihre Backups auf einem externen Datenträger oder auf Ihrem PC anlegen.
