iCloud: Share storage - how to use family sharing
The iCloud is one of Apple's most important offerings. In the cloud, you can store all your data and sync it with all your Apple devices. So if you save a file on your Mac, it can also be accessed on your phone. The iCloud can be shared with others via family sharing.
How to share iCloud storage?
Each family member or person you want to share your iCloud storage with must have enough storage on their own device.- You don't share all your storage, but only your storage plan - that is, only a certain part of the storage. The rest remains private and is only visible to you.
- You need at least iOS 11 or macOS 10.13 High Sierra to share the storage plan with up to five people.
- To share storage, first go to the Settings app, which you can find on your Home screen.
- Tap on your name there, select "Family Sharing " and then tap on "iCloud Storage".
- You may need to update a family plan here to 200GB or 2TB so you have enough storage to share with your family.
- Now you can split the storage up to five people and send them an invitation.
