The WLAN throughput is also called data throughput and informs you about the speed at which data is transferred in your wireless network. If you are interested in the exact speed of your WLAN connection, you can measure WLAN throughput using on-board tools or additional tools.

How to measure WLAN throughput on Mac and Windows PC

WLAN throughput indicates how high the transmission rate of your WLAN connection is.If you feel that the speed of your WLAN is too slow, you have several ways to check it.
  1. If you are using a Windows PC, you can determine the WLAN throughput by first right-clicking on the WLAN icon in the taskbar.
  2. Then select the option "Open Network and Internet Settings" from the context menu, go to "Status" > "Show Network Properties" and look for the entry "Connection Speed" there.
  3. To find out the transfer rate of your WLAN connection on the Mac, please hold down the "ALT key" and click on the "WLAN icon" at the same time.
  4. Thereupon, a new window opens, in which you will be shown more information about your WLAN network.
