Measuring WLAN speed: How fast is your connection

From time to time, despite a good connection, you may notice that Internet pages load slowly or some videos do not play properly. Especially when using a WLAN network, this can easily happen, as the speed depends on many factors.

The WLAN speed is a little different from the usual Internet speed. A WLAN network usually causes a little performance to be lost. So you measure the speed:

1. Install on your laptop or computer the software NetStress and start the program.
2. Select on both devices the respective network adapter.
3. After a short while, the tool has set itself up and the request of the firewall can be confirmed with "Allow access".
4. Now click on the star where you are connected to the WLAN and select the IP address of your computer.
5. After you have made all preparations, click on "Start".
6. Now you can watch the speed measurement live on both devices.
7. After a good minute, the test can be stopped. On the right side you will now find the average connection speed of the WLAN network.

Measure WLAN speed via a website

Various websites now offer the possibility to perform a speed test. In doing so, you can select whether you want to check your WLAN or your LAN speed.1. select a website and enter your Internet provider and the corresponding tariff.2. now activate the option that you want to check your WLAN connection.3. with some providers, you can select the server to which you want to test the connection.4. then click on "Start test".
