What quests and experience you gain in Guild Wars II depends on how you craft your character. This is because you can choose from various options that will ensure that you get class and race specific abilities. We give you an overview.

The skills you get in Guild Wars II depend on which class and race you choose in the game. You can learn ten standard skills and five class mechanics at the same time.

• Weapon Skills: The skills you learn in this category depend on the combination of your preferred weapon and class. Here, two-handed weapons define all five skills together. The only exception is the thief.
• Class Skills: You can choose a class in the game. You can choose from the warrior, the guardian, the revenant, the thief, the engineer, the elementalist, the mesmer, the necromancer and general skill types. Again, skill selection depends on how you combine race and class.
